Hi! Here’s a little recap of my 2nd week of June 2026!
Since we had a big event last week, the university officials decided to give us employees a rest day on Monday so we could recharge. And I made sure that rest day was spent very well.
Over the weekend — two days before the rest day — I got all the house chores done so that when Monday came, I could do what I love most… sleep all day! 😂
But sleeping the whole day didn’t quite happen. I decided to go visit my bibi (boyfriend) at the coffee shop where he was studying and finishing his schoolwork (he’s taking his PhD degree 🥰). I just sat beside him — him doing his thing, and me? Playing Plants vs. Zombies 2 on my iPad. Lol! I find it so relaxing to just be beside him, each of us doing our own thing. I think he felt the same way too. Sometimes, just being in the same space as someone you love is enough. After he finished his schoolwork, we headed to the mall for dinner. We went to Harbor City and ordered some delicious food 😊

Tuesday came, and while it wasn’t too hectic, I felt a little anxious. I had a report due no later than the 3rd week of June. Every time I have a deadline, the overthinking kicks in — What if I can’t beat it? Ugh, the bad side of me never rests. When it was time to go home, my bibi asked if we could have dinner outside because he had a rough day and needed to vent. I agreed immediately — I think we were both carrying some negativity that day. I guess eating is one of those things we turn to when we’re stressed, not just from work, but from life in general. 😂

Wednesday was much the same — not too busy, but the anxiety was still lingering 😂, and the workload was still there. Then on Thursday, our boss invited us all out to dinner. Food again! My workmate and I brought our boyfriends along. Our boss agreed but jokingly complained that she felt a little left out since she didn’t have a partner. We ended up at a Vietnamese restaurant, and we were so hungry that the moment our orders arrived, everyone went completely silent — heads down, just eating. Nobody was talking. Just pure, focused eating! Lol.

Friday rolled around, and there was no work due to a holiday! I initially thought about going to the office to catch up on my backlogs, but I decided against it. Instead, I chose to spend the day with my bibi and do what I love most… sleeping 😂.
All in all, this week was tiring — physically and mentally. But we found little ways to lift our spirits. Sometimes, just sharing a meal with the people you love, the people who make you happy, is enough to lighten the weight you’re carrying. 🥰
Reflection of the Week:
This week was a lot — deadlines, overthinking, and exhaustion all rolled into one. But somehow, good food and good company made everything feel lighter. I guess that’s all we really need sometimes. 🥰
Tired, but grateful. Here’s to another week! 💛
